No Knead Results

As has been written about by billions of bloggers, the results are quite good.

Click the pics for full size goodness.

How very artisany.

But how does it taste?

Quite good. Needs more salt, for my taste, and I need to tweak temp/baking time/water because this particular loaf was a tad bit wet still in the center, and the crust was drier and harder than I'd have liked - but, I used a stone and water spritzer rather than the dutch oven.

If you are at all intimidated by baking bread, try the no knead method. It is revolutionary.

New Year, some new recipes...

It's been a while, but I have managed to cook up a couple of new things, especially since i got one of these:

clicky

For Christmas. It makes great paninis and Cuban Sandwiches.

Also, it's great for leftovers. Say you make Grandma's Pot Roast, and have some meat and vegetables left over? Make a panini out of it. It's really good.

Also made a new Giada recipe, Pannetone French Toast. Yum!

Episode #114, Sandwich Craft
Recipe: Cuban Sandwich
Results: A very delicious sandwich, although pulled pork is preferable to sliced, but that's just my opinion.

Episode #EI1 E03, Simply Sweet (Everyday Italian)
Recipe: Panettone French Toast
Results: Quite simply, it's just an absolutely delicious way of making french toast. And the leftover "custard" makes delicious scrambled eggs.

My Grandmother's Pot Roast (foodfit.com)
Results: Quite nice pot roast with vegetables. The red wine gravy was superb. Make sure you toss in a few potatoes; they'll be delicious!
